Porcelain veneers for Little Havana,
a smile consult in English or Spanish.

Porcelain veneers for Little Havana families start at $999 per tooth at Prana Dental in Edgewater, usually 15 to 25 minutes away depending on traffic. Our team speaks English and Spanish, so the whole family can follow the plan in the language they're most comfortable with. Dr. Aakash Rana, DDS plans each smile personally, often starting with older dental work that no longer looks right, and our in-house lab makes the porcelain.

From $999 for each tooth. Replacing older work can change what each tooth needs, so your total is set in writing after planning and before treatment.

A consult the whole family can understand

Little Havana, from Calle Ocho to the blocks around Máximo Gómez Park (Domino Park) and the Tower Theater, is a largely Spanish-speaking, multigenerational neighborhood. Decisions about a smile are often made together here. An adult daughter brings her mother; a grandfather wants his grandson in the room to hear the details; two sisters book back to back.

That works well with a bilingual team. Dr. Rana explains the options, the steps and the price, and the conversation can switch between English and Spanish as needed, so nobody nods along without really following. ¿Prefiere todo en español? Read our página de carillas en español.

Getting here from Little Havana

Take I-95 north to I-195 east, exit at Biscayne Blvd and head a few blocks south to NE 30th Street. Another route is SW 8th Street east toward downtown, then north on Biscayne Blvd. Either way it usually takes 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. The office is at 3050 Biscayne Blvd, Suite 703, and there is building parking and street parking.

For a family coming in one car, rideshare drop-off at the building on Biscayne is also easy. Metrobus routes run along Biscayne Blvd; the GO Miami-Dade Transit app shows current routes and times.

Fixing older dental work

Many people who ask about veneers from Little Havana aren't starting from untouched teeth. They have front crowns from decades ago with a gray line at the gum, tooth-colored fillings that have yellowed, old veneers that chipped, or a bridge that no longer matches. Veneers can be part of the answer, but not always the whole one.

Porcelain veneers bond most reliably to healthy enamel. A front tooth that already has a crown usually needs a new crown, not a veneer, and one with a very large filling may also do better with a crown. Old work that hides decay has to be treated first. Your free first visit (an exam, a 3D scan and a digital smile preview) lets Dr. Rana see which teeth can take veneers and which need something else, so the new work looks consistent from tooth to tooth.

Who is and isn't a good candidate

Veneers generally suit adults whose gums are healthy and whose teeth are strong enough to support porcelain. Gum disease and cavities must be treated before cosmetic work. Grinding is common at any age and can crack porcelain, so a night guard may be advised. For teenagers in the family, veneers are usually postponed until the teeth and gums have finished maturing, and other options are often a better fit at that age.

Most conventional veneers mean removing a thin layer of enamel from the front of the tooth, which generally can't be reversed. Some people may qualify for minimal-prep veneers that require little or no shaping, depending on tooth size and position. Dr. Rana will show you on the scan what each choice would involve, in English or Spanish.

Care and how long they last

Porcelain veneers may last many years with good care, but nobody can promise an exact number of years; bite, grinding, gum health and habits all affect it. Brush twice daily, floss, come in for regular cleanings, and avoid cracking hard seeds or shells with your front teeth. The porcelain keeps its color, so if you plan to whiten your other teeth, do it before the shade is chosen.

Price, financing and insurance

Porcelain veneers for Little Havana patients start at $999 per tooth. Financing at 0% on approved credit is available through CareCredit, Cherry and LendingClub (see financing). Most major dental insurance is accepted, and while cosmetic veneers are often not covered, replacing a failing crown or filling may be treated differently by some plans; we check your benefits for you. Questions, answered

Can I have my veneer consultation in Spanish?

Yes. Our team is bilingual in English and Spanish, and the consult, the plan and the price can all be explained in Spanish. Family members who prefer English can follow along in English during the same visit.

Can my mother and I come to the first visit together?

Yes. Each new patient gets a free first visit with an exam, 3D scan and smile preview, and family members can book back to back. Call or text (786) 579-0521 and ask for consecutive appointments.

Can veneers replace my old crowns or stained fillings?

Sometimes. A tooth that already has a crown usually needs a new crown rather than a veneer, and a tooth with a large filling may too. Teeth with small fillings and healthy enamel may be good veneer candidates, which the exam and scan will show.

How long is the drive from Little Havana to Prana Dental?

Usually 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic, via I-95 north to I-195 east and Biscayne Blvd, or SW 8th Street east and then north on Biscayne. There is building parking and street parking at 3050 Biscayne Blvd.

Will my insurance help pay to redo old front-tooth work?

It depends on your plan and the reason for the work. Plans often exclude purely cosmetic veneers, but some may treat replacement of a broken crown or failing filling differently. We check your benefits before treatment so you know where you stand.
