If you live along the bay, dental implants in Edgewater no longer mean a trip across town: Prana Dental sits on Biscayne Blvd at NE 30th Street, close enough that many neighbors can walk over. Dr. Aakash Rana, DDS replaces one missing tooth, or a short gap of several, with implants planned on a 3D scan and crowns made in our in-house lab.
Single implants from $1,999. That figure includes the implant, the abutment and the crown, and your own price is set down in writing before treatment begins.
Edgewater is mostly condo towers between Biscayne Blvd and the water, from around NE 17th Street up to NE 36th. Plenty of the people in those buildings are retirees and older adults who have put off a missing back tooth, an old bridge that has started to loosen, or a tooth that cracked under a crown years ago. Others are working residents who simply want treatment close to home.
Implant treatment usually takes several visits spread over a few months, so distance matters more than it does for one cleaning. When every appointment is a few minutes away, on foot or a short ride along Biscayne, the whole process is easier to keep up with.
The office is at 3050 Biscayne Blvd, Suite 703, on the corner of NE 30th Street. From the southern end of the neighborhood near Margaret Pace Park, it's a straight run north on Biscayne Blvd or N Bayshore Drive, a few minutes by car depending on traffic. From the towers closer to NE 30th, a lot of residents just walk.
If you drive, there's parking in the building and street parking around it, and rideshare cars can drop you right at the building on Biscayne Blvd. Metrobus routes also run along the boulevard (the GO Miami-Dade Transit app has current routes and times), and Citi Bike Miami has stations around the city.
One practical note for placement day: if you choose oral sedation, an adult needs to take you home, even if home is only a few blocks away. Without sedation, most people head home on their own, still a little numb.
An implant is a small post set in the jawbone where a tooth used to be. Once the bone has healed around it, an abutment connects it to a custom crown. For one missing tooth, the teeth on either side don't have to be filed down the way they would for a traditional bridge. When two or three teeth in a row are gone, two implants can often hold a bridge that fills the whole gap.
Implants tend to work well for adults with healthy gums and enough bone, and age by itself is rarely what decides it. Your overall health counts for more, so bring a full list of medications, including blood thinners and any bone-density medicine, since they can change the plan. Smoking and poorly controlled diabetes can slow healing, and we'll talk about that honestly. The main dental implants page explains the treatment in more depth.
If most of the teeth in one jaw are failing, a full-arch approach may make more sense than replacing them one at a time; see All-on-4® in Edgewater for that route.
Replacing one tooth starts at $1,999 for all three parts: implant, abutment and crown. An extraction, grafting, sedation or extra imaging can change the total, and you get the exact number in writing before anything starts. For a gap of several teeth, the price depends on how many implants and what kind of bridge your mouth needs.
Payments can be spread out with 0% financing options on approved credit through CareCredit, Cherry and LendingClub. Most major dental insurance plans are accepted here. Many plans have annual maximums in the $1,000 to $2,000 range, so they may pay for only part of an implant, and Original Medicare generally doesn't cover implants, though some Medicare Advantage plans include dental benefits. Whatever plan you carry, we check your benefits for you.
We're open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm and closed on Sundays. To set up a first visit, call or text (786) 579-0521, or message that same number on WhatsApp. The team speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. Aakash Rana, DDS is a general dentist trained at NYU College of Dentistry, with more than $100,000 in continuing education. He plans and treats each case at Prana Dental himself, works with our in-house lab, and refers to a specialist when a case needs one.
Many Edgewater residents can. The office is on Biscayne Blvd at NE 30th Street, so from most towers in the neighborhood it's a short walk or a few minutes by car. On a day with oral sedation, arrange for someone to bring you home.
There's no set upper age limit for implants in adults. What weighs more is your general health, your medications and how much bone remains where the tooth was. The 3D scan at your first visit is where that conversation starts.
Often, yes. A bridge usually fails because one of the teeth holding it has decay or a crack. Depending on what the exam shows, the fix might be one or two implants, a new bridge or something else, and Dr. Rana will walk you through the trade-offs.
They help if you have them, but they aren't required. We begin with our own exam and 3D scan. If implant planning calls for more imaging, you hear the price before it's taken.
