Several factors usually shape the price of a root canal:
- Which tooth it is. Front teeth generally have one root and a simpler shape. Molars in the back have multiple roots and more canals to clean, which usually means more time and more complexity.
- How complex the case is. Curved or narrow canals, a tooth that has had treatment before, or a serious infection can all add to the work involved.
- Whether you need a crown afterward. A treated tooth, especially a back tooth, often needs a dental crown to protect it. That is a separate step and part of the overall plan, so ask about it upfront.
